"Big News..."

I (Comfort) have decided to go back to school to obtain my Master's and eventually Doctorate in Counseling. God has asked me to do this so that I might help others with the area of adoption. I am so excited about this! For those of you close to us, you know what a roller coaster of a year we've had with having Caleb home. God used a therapist in an incredible way to help us and Caleb begin the healing process that is so needed in his little life and body. God spoke clearly to me a few weeks ago and asked that I also go into this field to help guide others in the journey of adoption.

Please be praying for me as I go through the enrollment and financial aid processes. I have decided to attend Liberty University and also will be taking a few classes at Denver Seminary. I hope to be a state certified therapist in 2 1/2 years.

I'll keep you updated!

"The Blessing of a Friend..."

Dear Katie,
What a blessing you are to me. I wanted to take a moment and thank you publicly for your friendship! Here are a few of the things I am thankful for:
*Your servant's heart
*Your babysitting skills ;-)
*Late night talks about "toys" and such....
*Laughing together with you about nothing at all
*Your constant prayer and support
*2 hour phone conversations where we take turns yelling at our kids
*Making a room smell like a$# together
*Your amazing culinary skills
*the fact you still love me despite my lack of amazing culinary skills
*our times of prayer together
*Fry sauce and coke
*afternoon diapers
*AND...being the beautiful woman of God that you are.

You are an amazing woman, wife, and mother and I am SO very proud to call you "friend."

Love,
Comfort

Fun at Nana and Papa's House...

Lunch With My Girl...

Last week I went to school and had lunch with Charley. OH, the memories! Does school ever change? Anyway, it was a special time to see Char in her environment. I did however, make the HUGE mistake of opening her milk for her. I got the "MOM!" with the huge roll of the eyes...."You're embarassing me!!!!" OOPS!

Dear Charley, Caleb, and Dillan...

Just for this morning, I am going to smile when I see your face, and laugh when I feel like crying.Just for this morning, I will let you choose what you want to wear, and smile and say how perfect it is.Just for this morning, I am going to step over the laundry, and pick you up and take you to the park to play.Just for this morning, I will leave the dishes in the sink, and let you teach me how to put that puzzle of yours together.Just for this afternoon, I will unplug the telephone and keep the computer off, and sit with you in the backyard and blow bubbles.Just for this afternoon, I will not yell once, not even a tiny grumble when you scream and whine for the ice cream truck, and I will buy you one if he comes by.Just for this afternoon, I won't worry about what you are going to be when you grow up, or second guess every decision I have made where you are concerned.Just for this afternoon, I will let you help me bake cookies, and I won't stand over you trying to fix them.Just for this afternoon, I will take us to McDonald's and buy us both a Happy Meal so you can have both toys.Just for this evening, I will hold you in my arms and tell you a story about how you were born and how much I love you.Just for this evening, I will let you splash in the tub and not get angry.Just for this evening, I will let you stay up late while we sit on the porch and count all the stars.Just for this evening, I will snuggle beside you for hours, and miss my favorite TV shows.Just for this evening when I run my fingers through your hair as you pray, I will simply be grateful that God has given me the greatest gift ever given.I will think about the mothers and fathers who are searching for their missing children; the mothers and fathers who are visiting their children's graves instead of their bedrooms; and the mothers and fathers who are in hospital rooms watching their children suffer senselessly, and screaming inside that they can't handle it anymore. And when I kiss you goodnight I will hold you a little tighter, and a little longer. It is then, that I will thank God for you, and ask Him for nothing, except one more day...-Sally Meyer copyright 1999

Cute Conversation...

Tonight on our way home from dance class, I said, "Boy, Mommy is tired!" Dillan said, "I'm tired too!" Charley said, "I'm tired too!" Caleb said, "I'm stubborn too!"

I had to laugh at that one....
